JONAH HEX by Francesco Francavilla
(click on the above image for the larger Sunday papers view)
Who knows me knows how much I love this guy here. so when it was my turn againt o choose the topic for Comic Twart, I had to pick JONAH HEX, had to :D
I didn't draw this overnight: I had a few panels done some time ago for a longer story (I was thinking 8 pages) but I reworked them and added some new panels, colored and lettered, to make it work all in one page here.
Hope DC, Jimmy & Justin, and you all dig it. :)
P.S. Oh, pls don't forget to pick up DETECTIVE COMNICS 871tomorrow: it's the issue where I start my Commissioner Gordon co-feature - it's good stuff :)
Cheers,
Francesco

excellent!
Wow. This made my day. I'd love to see you do a Hex story.
Beautiful work, Francesco! I always like what you do with westerns but this is especially top notch.
very nice
Hands down one of the best twarts yet. Love the colors and the format. Very Bill Waterson. Your Hex love shows through for sure. Keep it up.
channeling my inner Jonah: "That Francavilla boy draws slicker than pig shit."
I love the silhouette with the hole in his head!
Phenomenal, Kind Sir. Not a DC fan but this is awesome, and I am all over the upcoming Commissioner Gordon comic. Why are they starting at such a high number--with you doing the art it should just be Commissioner Gordon #1 and it would be the start of something very special--Comics were meant to be good!
I love it, Francesco. That close shot on Jonah is SO intense.
Amazing. I love it.
You seriously need to do an issue of Jonah Hex!
I love me some Hex. This is awesome.
...Wow! I'd love to see the unabridged story!!! Way to go, sir!
MY belated (but HUGE nevertheless) GRAZIE for all the kind words and sweet comments, you guys are the best :)
And yes, I would definitely love to draw one issue or two (Been wanting to do it for a while now actually): maybe it's not just a dream now? ;)
Cheers,
Francesco
