ASTERIX by Ron Salas
I'm glad Tom picked Asterix for the week's topic 'cause I always knew I should read Asterix but never had the reason to. I'm glad he did 'cause it's fantastic! I love the humour and the political and social commentary Goscinny and Uderzo manage to put into each tale.
Uderzo is an amaazing cartoonist and I'm going to try to track down more of his stuff. I love it a lot. However, I couldn't get into my own take on Asterix until I thought of Jack Davis. So this is my version on that.
Looking the jpeg, the colours unforuntately didn't scan quite right but I'm letting it go. Hope you all like it.

That Obelix is really great, Ron. Especially the kick he's delivering. And the colors look pretty good to me.
I don't like it; I love it. This is just beautiful. Wow!
This is so excellent. Wow! :)

mike
Thanks guys!
Tom - Yeah, I knew I was going to lose a lot of that energy after I go in and paint the thing. I wish I knew of a way to better translate that energy in watercolors. I'll have to work on how to do that some more.
Thanks Mike!
i didn't mean to take anything away from the finished painting, ron. just that those four figures in the sketch are a lovely bit of drawing.
What a great way to close the Asterix week, Ron, absolutely gorgeous! :D
Cheers,
Francesco
Thanks Francesco! Glad you like it. I don't know if I am bringing asterix week to a close. I am still waiting for the other guys' takes on Asterix, myself. ;)
Oh btw I wasn't taking what you said badly at all, Tom. Just agreeing with you, that's all. :)
This is so double rainbow.
