The Black Beetle by Steve Bryant
I'm sneaking this one in under the wire. After having been Twartless for two consecutive weeks, I wanted to try something special for Francesco's Black Beetle and decided to work up a full-color magazine cover.
I struggled with it , remembering that I absolutely suck when it comes to color. In the end, I went with what I'm comfortable with and opted for a b/w version of the piece.
While trying to develop a theme for the piece, I googled a bunch of pulps and found that "Satan" pops up a lot and the character of "Sister Satan" just made me laugh (although the adventure's title probably owes as much to Stan Lee as it does to the pulps).
A big thanks to Francesco for letting me have so much fun with such a terrific character.

Really beautiful ink work. Nice job!
Sister Satan looks like a tough b!tch to deal with for the Black Beetle :D
Great looking cover, Steve, and I am loving the type for his name as well :)
You may just want to check the spelling on my last name there ;)
Thanks for joining in: you mentioned earlier last week you were contributing a piece and I was starting to worry ;)
Cheers,
Francesco
Looks fantastic, Steve. :)

Oh man, Steve. You took the whole cake! That's completely inspired. My favorite of all your Twart pieces! and that's saying somethin'!
Thanks for the kind words, guys. I feel like I've been away forever!
Sorry about the typo, Francesco. My fingers got carried away. Oh, that sounds dirty. I got a case of happy fingers. Oh, that's even dirtier. I typed it late at night. Yeah, that's it; I typed it late at night.
Fixed now. :)
This is terrific Steve! I really love the design elements you've added. Wonderful job!
Beautiful inks, Steve. Great drawing and I love those luscious blacks.
