Black Beetle by Ron Salas

I had a few ideas for this when I first heard of this week's character and for some reason decided on the most time consuming one. I was caught up in the idea of creating history for a character that should have one but doesn't.

I should colour this at some point but for right now let's call this done.

Is it ok to just "Fuck, me!" as a response?

Oh, and it was uttered as an exclamation, not a request.

*applauds*.

STUNNING work, Ron. And another pic that would look outstanding in faded, olde worlde colour.

*Continues the McDaid slow clap*

If you do color it you must age it wonderfully like a classic pulp cover. This amazing illo is begging for it!

Thanks guys! Glad you like this.

Mitch - I absolutely agree with you. Which is why this probably won't be coloured for a while since I'd like to get this painted like the old pulps.

Ron; this is a wonderfully designed piece. My composition is completely boring in comparison.

I don't think i'd even like this to be coloured; it works so well in Black and white. You can't see me, but i'm actually saluting you right now...

...hard to... type and... salute at... same time...

That's gorgeous, Ron. Beautiful detail in the dragon, and the way it plays against the figure looming over the buildings.

This one is so similar to what I originally had planned I had to change mine 'cuz there's no catching up to this.

That rocks, Ron!

Hell, all of you rock.
It's a Japanese garden fulla rock around here.

Wow, thanks everybody!

Glad you like the piece. I just didn't want people to look at my pic and say "What's this guy doing here?" :)

Thanks guys! Glad you like it.

Steve, I think I've got to learn of a new way of balancing my compositions cause I'd afraid they might be getting old and stale. I need to do some research and study.
